Vancouver police work to reunite owner with sit-ski stolen from car

VANCOUVER – A specialized piece of ski equipment has been stolen in Vancouver and police hope someone can help them reunite it with its owner.

The item is a sit-ski, a unique type of ski with a seat attached, designed to allow wheelchair-bound athletes to hit the slopes.

A 27-year-old man left the sit-ski in his car in the city’s West End last Saturday night at about 9 p.m.

When he returned at 11 a.m. on Sunday morning, the ski was gone.

The aluminum-frame item has a black basket seat, red strap, grey cushion and green cat logo.

Investigators want to hear from anyone who may have information about the sit-ski.
