SALMON ARM – Police are asking for the public’s help after an ATM was damaged by explosives in Salmon Arm early this morning.
Around 4:50 a.m. today, Sept. 11, officers responded to an alarm from the downtown branch of the Salmon Arm Savings and Credit Union, according to an RCMP media release.
Police say there was damage to the front entry of the building as well as to the ATM in the vestibule.
"Preliminary examination of the scene indicates that some kind of explosion had occurred targeting the ATM," Staff Sgt. Scott West says in the release.
No one got inside the branch and personal client information is secured, police say.
Anyone with information is asked to call the Salmon Arm RCMP detachment at 250-832-6044.
