Thieves steal expensive vehicles from Salmon Arm fair

SALMON ARM – Salmon Arm RCMP are asking for public’s help after a 2018 Kubota RTV and Arctic Cat ATV were stolen from fairgrounds on display in the city.

The Salmon Arm Fair took place last weekend, and police say two off-roading vehicles on display were taken from the fairgrounds on Sept. 10, sometime in the early morning hours, according to a news release.

Police say the unknown suspects cut the lock gates to the fairgrounds and used a pickup truck to steal the RTV and ATV.

The thieves also attempted to steal a red GMC truck which was also on display but were not successful in their attempts.

However, in trying to steal the truck, they caused substantial damage to the vehicle, the release says.

Police received a tip about an orange RTV that was seen on Foothills Road at about 8:30 a.m. on Sept. 10 seen driving away from town.

Police are asking anyone with information about these events to contact the Salmon Arm RCMP detachment at 250-832-6044.
