Lions stolen from classical Chinese garden returned to Vancouver’s Chinatown

VANCOUVER – Two rose quartz lion statues that were stolen from Vancouver’s Chinatown are now back on guard at a popular tourist destination.

Police say officers recovered the lions and they have been returned to their original spots in front of the Dr. Sun Yat-Sen Classical Chinese Garden.

The statues were taken sometime between 6 p.m. on Sept. 6 and 8 a.m. the next day.

Police say the lions have made their home at the garden for about 30 years before they disappeared.

No arrests have been made and the investigation is ongoing.
