Name of deceased cyclist confirmed
KAMLOOPS – Sources have confirmed with InfoNews Monday morning the cyclist who died in hospital after hitting a vehicle on Springhill Drive Saturday afternoon was Robert Petersen.
Petersen was a music teacher at St. Ann's Academy and at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic school.
Around 3 p.m. he struck a southbound Ford Escape that was turning left in front of him as he was riding his bicycle downhill.
Following the incident, a traffic analyst from Kelowna inspected the vehicle. Officers on scene said the sun was low on the horizon at the time of the crash.
