Clint Dempsey tops Michael Bradley, Jermain Defoe on MLS salary scale

TORONTO – Twelve MLS players are earning seven-figure salaries this season with Toronto FC home to three of them.
Seattle Sounders striker Clint Dempsey is the league’s highest-paid player at US$6.695 million, according to figures released by the MLS Players Union.
Toronto midfielder Michael Bradley is next at $6.5 million, followed by teammate Jermain Defoe at $6.18 million.
Fellow Toronto striker Gilberto makes $1.2 million.
Montreal forward Marco Di Vaio is the highest-paid Impact player at $2.6 million while midfielder Pedro Morales leads the Vancouver Whitecaps at $1.41 million.
