Kelowna RCMP have arrested two teens suspected of starting a house fire last summer.
Police received a call about the fire on the 100 block of Briarwood Road around 2 p.m. Aug. 31, 2012. The Kelowna Fire Department contained it to a covered entrance and extinguished the flame, though a portion of the building was heavily damaged. Four people were inside at the time but escaped without injury.
Damage is estimated at around $175,000.
The two boys age 14 and 15 are scheduled for court next month. They may face charges of arson. Police say the 14-year-old is also suspected of spraying a handicapped woman and her caretaker with bear spray at a local park.
