Where to meet your Kamloops civic election candidates

KAMLOOPS – Those looking to find out more from the candidates running in the Kamloops municipal election campaign have a couple of opportunities so far.

In the upcoming weeks, candidate forums will take place as the Oct. 20 election day approaches. The forums allow voters to learn about a candidate's platform, ask questions as well as hear where candidates stand on a certain issue.

There are two mayoral candidates and 22 councillor candidates running for office this year.

The Council of Canadians is hosting an all-candidate forum on Saturday, Sept. 22 at 10 a.m. at the Kamloops Farmers' Market. It's a chance to meet candidates face-to-face and ask questions about city issues.

An all candidates forum on Wednesday, Oct. 10 will be hosted by the Canadian Home Builders' Association from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at Colombo Lodge at 814 Lorne St. A dinner will also be served prior to the forum.
