Amber Alert issued for Toronto-area boy last seen Sunday

MISSISSAUGA, – Police have issued an Amber Alert for a missing Toronto-area boy.

Investigators are seeking the public’s help in finding eight-year-old Matthew Zhang, who was last seen Sunday morning when his father dropped him off at his mother’s residence in Mississauga.

Police believe the mother, Wei Chen, has fled the jurisdiction with her son. They say Chen doesn’t have custody of the boy, and isn’t able to take proper care of him.

Investigators say Chen drives a 2005, grey four-door Honda Accord (Ontario license AVAM 009).

She’s described as Asian, five-foot-six, with a thin build and collar length black hair.

Zhang, who’s also Asian, is five-feet tall with a thin build and short black hair. When last seen he was wearing a blue or green winter coat, a sweater with a hoodie, and grey runners with a green stripe.
