Edmonton couple in B.C. for wedding robbed at gunpoint in hotel:police

NORTH VANCOUVER, B.C. – Surviving an armed robbery — not watching wedding nupitials — is what an Edmonton couple may remember most about their trip to the West Coast.

North Vancouver RCMP Cpl. Richard De Jong says the couple was in town for a wedding when three men walked into a hotel and used a gun to steal their cellphones, wallets, cash, jewelry and an iPad.

De Jong says the male victim also suffered head injuries during the heist on Saturday.

He says the couple knew the main suspect through a friend of a friend but that the man had used another name.

De Jong says 26-year-old Liban Robleh was identified by one of the victims through pictures on Facebook and that all three suspects were arrested at a home on Sunday, where police recovered the stolen property, along with drugs and a handgun.

Robleh has been charged with three counts of firearms offences, has appeared in court, and has been remanded in custody until April 17.
