Search dog training camp taking place in Kamloops
KAMLOOPS – The British Columbia Search Dog Association has launched another fall training camp.
Volunteers from the not-for-profit organization have already begun training courses for ground search and rescue dogs.
The training camp started yesterday, Sept. 26, and will continue until Sunday.
The training for the search dogs focuses on wilderness area searching and tracking, according to the B.C. Search Dog Association's website.
Last year, comedian Rick Mercer made a visit to Roche Lake just outside of Kamloops to learn about search dog training.
This year's search dog training camp is being held just outside of Kamloops in Lac Le Jeune.
Throwing it back to when Rick Mercer came to learn about all things search dog training. The dogs are back at it again this weekend as the BC Search Dog Association hosts another dog camp in #Kamloops. #searchandrescue #ThrowbackThursday #TBT (JS) pic.twitter.com/J07l9Hb5f6
