Kamloops RCMP identify three suspects in Valleyview pepper spray incident

KAMLOOPS – Police have now identified three teens who allegedly had pepper spray on the grounds of Valleyview Secondary School yesterday.

Kamloops RCMP spokesperson Cpl. Jodi Shelkie says in a news release that officers were called to Valleyview Secondary School just after noon yesterday, Sept. 26, for a report of three teenagers on the school grounds who had pepper spray.

As a precaution, the high school was placed in lock down.

Officers arrived and found the suspect teens had left the area but there was a vehicle in the school parking lot that had some pepper spray on it, Shelkie says.

No word on how old the suspects are, if they were taken into police custody, or if charges will be laid.

The three teenagers who allegedly had the pepper spray have been identified and are not students of the school. The investigation is ongoing and Kamloops RCMP is asking anyone with information about this incident to call them at 250-828-3000.
