Little Big Town coming to South Okanagan

PENTICTON – Grammy award winning Little Big Town will hit the stage at the South Okanagan Events Centre in Penticton this winter.

The quartet is extending their U.S. Breakers Tour into Canada, starting in February of 2019. Little Big Town will be making a stop in Penticton on Friday, March 1, 2019 as part of a 10 city Canadian extension.

The show opens with special guests Midland and Ashley McBryde.

Little Big Town has earned more than 40 award show nominations and have come away with nearly 20 awards, including multiple Grammys, American Music Association, People’s Choice, Country Music Association, American Country Music and an Emmy, according to a media release.

They are the current CMA and ACM vocal group of the year, are Country Music Hall of Fame inductees and have their own star on the Nashville Walk of Fame.

The group has two decades worth of experience in the music industry with such hits as “Boondocks,” “Good as Gone,” “Tornado,” and “Day Drinking.”

Little Big Town’s last studio album “The Breaker” debuted at number one on the Billboard Country Charts.

Midland is a grammy nominated and ACM award winning trio from Dripping Springs, Texas with the recently released single “Burn Out".

Ashley McBryde has opened for Eric Church, Chris Stapleton and Miranda Lambert and Luke Combs.

She has been described by The New York Times as “an alluringly flexible singer, fluent in classic country, blues and Southern rock, with a voice that moves from tender to tough.”

Tickets go on sale Friday, Oct. 12 at 10 a.m. at www.ValleyFirstTix.com. Ticket prices are: $49.75, 69.75 and $84.75.

Steve Arstad

I have been looking for news in the South Okanagan - SImilkameen for 20 years, having turned a part time lifelong interest into a full time profession. After five years publishing a local newsletter, several years working as a correspondent / stringer for several local newspapers and seven years as editor of a Similkameen weekly newspaper, I joined iNFOnews.ca in 2014. My goal in the news industry has always been to deliver accurate and interesting articles about local people and places. My interest in the profession is life long - from my earliest memories of grade school, I have enjoyed writing.
As an airborne geophysical surveyor I travelled extensively around the globe, conducting helicopter borne mineral surveys.
I also spent several years at an Okanagan Falls based lumber mill, producing glued-wood laminated products.
As a member of the Kaleden community, I have been involved in the Kaleden Volunteer Fire Department for 22 years, and also serve as a trustee on the Kaleden Irrigation District board.
I am currently married to my wife Judy, of 26 years. We are empty-nesters who enjoy living in Kaleden with our Welsh Terrier, Angus, and cat, Tibbs.
Our two daughters, Meagan and Hayley, reside in Richmond and Victoria, respectively.
