1,400 marijuana plants seized from Shuswap home

MALAKWA – A Malakwa man is facing charges after 1,400 marijuana plants were seized from a Shuswap home.

Sicamous RCMP says in a news release that officers executed a search warrant at a Malakwa residence on Finucane Rokosh Road on Thursday, Oct. 4, resulting in the large seizure.

Two men were located and arrested during the execution of the warrant, police say, with investigators releasing the 38-year-old property owner on a promise to appear in court at a future date.

The second person arrested on the property was released without charges.

Police confirmed with Health Canada that the property did not have the required licence to cultivate medical marijuana on the property.
