Ryan Nelsen sympathetic to Moyse, believes fired Man U boss will succeed elsewhere

TORONTO – Toronto FC manager Ryan Nelsen was quick to offer sympathy — and support — to fired Manchester United boss David Moyse.

“He’s very good at what he does,” Nelsen said Thursday after practice. “He’s an extremely good manager. And in all honesty, his record shows it.

“And what (Roberto) Martinez is doing at Everton is just building on what David took so long to build. It takes time at these clubs. Unfortunately now, these days, when the fans go and everything goes, it just snowballs. It’s a horrendous job. Sometimes you wonder why you’re even doing it.

“But he will get a very top job very soon and he will be extremely good, because he is so good.”

Moyse, who succeeded Sir Alex Ferguson, was fired Tuesday after 10 months in charge at Old Trafford. Manchester United (17-11-6) stands seventh in the Premier League table.
