Evacuation order continues to remain in effect following Shuswap mudslide

SALMON ARM, B.C. – Weather is complicating the risk assessment process in the Shuswap as officials try to update an evacuation order for McIntyre Creek.

A mudslide over Sunnybrae-Canoe Point Road on Wednesday led to seven properties being evacuated.

Cathy Semchuk with the Shuswap Emergency Management program says rainy weather and snow-melting conditions in the forecast are complicating the risk assessment.

Semchuk says an evacuation order remains in effect.
