Canada defeats Sweden 3-1 in bronze-medal game at U18 hockey championship

LAPEENRANTA, Finland – Canada has won the bronze medal at the world under-18 hockey championship.

Brendan Perlini, Lawson Crouse and Travis Konecny scored for Canada in a 3-1 win over Sweden.

Henrik Tornqvist scored Sweden’s lone goal midway through the first period.

Goaltender Mason McDonald made 38 saves for Canada.

The Czech Republic will play the United States for gold later today.
