What is it? A federal program that allows anyone aged 18-35 to work in Canada for a set period of time without a so-called labour market opinion. In exchange, Canadians can work in the countries participating in the program.

How many countries are involved? 32.

Which countries take part? Australia, Austria, Belgium, Chile, Costa Rica, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, France, Germany, Greece, Hong Kong, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Republic of Korea, Latvia, Lithuania, Mexico, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Taiwan, Ukraine, United Kingdom.

Where are the most foreign workers coming from? Ireland. The number of Irish workers permitted to come to Canada on the IEC visa increased to 10,750 this year from 4,000 in 2010.

How many workers are hired in Canada? As many as 20,000.
