Mounties seek info after suspicious death of Alberta man in B.C. Okanagan
PENTICTON, B.C. – Mounties in the south Okanagan are piecing together the final hours of an Alberta man’s life, before he was found dead, floating in a local river.
RCMP Const. Kris Clark says 24-year-old Andrew Scott Gangl of Edmonton was last seen walking near an elementary school in the community of Okanagan Falls, B.C., on Thursday evening.
Clark says his body was found the next morning in the Okanagan River, and police say his death is suspicious.
Clark says investigators want to talk to anybody who was in the area or saw Gangl between Thursday afternoon and the time his body was discovered.
Gangl was Caucasian, stood 5-7, weighed 140 pounds, had blue eyes, red-blond hair and was wearing a Black Chicago Blackhawks baseball hat, a dark jacket, blue Adidas and carried a black backpack.
Clark says an autopsy is scheduled for Wednesday afternoon.
