Meet your RDNO board of directors

Two new faces sit on the board of directors for the Regional District of the North Okanagan. 

Amanda Schatzko received the most votes at 440, and beat out her opponent Mike Randell who got 310 votes. Then from Electoral Area "B" incumbent Bob Flemming took 344 votes, while his opponent political newcomer Myles McGovern had 273. Then in Electoral Area "F" Denis Delisle won with 217 votes and his opponent Lori Heins got 211.

According to the RDNO website the district has three main purposes: to be the local government for the electoral areas of the North Okanagan, and provide basic local services with the exception of roads and policing; to provide regional services such as solid waste management planning; and it is an inter-jurisdictional service body that provides services on a sub-regional basis to different combinations of municipalities and electoral areas, such as Greater Vernon Water.

The choice of services is determined by the Regional Board but only with the support of the electors.

Here's who has been elected to sit on the RDNO's board of directors:

Electoral Area "C" Amanda Shatzko 440

Electoral Area "B" Bob Fleming (incumbent) 344

Electoral Area "F" Denis Delisle 217

The following candidates ran unopposed and were therefore acclaimed:

Electoral Area "D" Rick Fairburn (incumbent)

Electora Alrea "E" Hank Cameron (incumbent)
