Meet your RDOS board of directors

Lots of new faces in the Regional District of Okanagan-Similkameen as very few incumbents ran for the board of directors this election.

The eighteen RDOS directors are supposed to help provide services to the participating municipalities and districts in the South Okanagan-Simikameen. Their website says they oversee community services, coorperate services, environment, infrastructure, health, planning and development, protection services and others.

Here's who got elected:

Electoral area "D" (OK Falls/Skaha East) Ron Obirek 601

Electoral area "E" (Naramata) Karla Kozakevich (incumbent) 470

Electoral area "I" (Kaleden/Twin Lakes/St. Andrews/Skaha West) Subrina Monteith 349

Electoral area "F" (Okanagan Lake West/West Bench) Riley Gettens 290

Electoral area "G" (Keremeos Rural/Hedley) Tim Roberts 240

The following have been acclaimed as they ran unopposed:

Electoral area "A" (Osoyoos Rural) Mark Pendergraft (incumbent)

Electoral area "B" (Cawston) George Bush (incumbent)

Electoral area "H" (Princeton Rural) Bob Coyne (incumbent)

No election was held for the Olalla Local Community Commision, because only two people put in their names to fill four spots. Incumbents Stanley Bobowski and Neil Gair were not acclaimed as no election was held pursuant to the Local Government Act. The district is looking for two individuals who reside within the Olalla Local Community to serve on the Olalla Local Community Commission.
