Summerland elects Toni Boot as mayor

SUMMERLAND – There's a new mayor in Summerland.

Toni Boot won the mayoral election beating out the competition, Janet Peake, with 2,331 votes to 1,724. That's a 56.9 percent win over 42.1 per cent.

Voter turn out this year was 46 per cent with 4,099 votes from 8,990 eligible voters according to Civicinfo.

Chief Election Officer Jeremy Denegar says in a release that official results will be announced Monday, Oct. 22.
