P.K. Subban scores in double OT for Montreal in 4-3 win against Boston in Game 1

BOSTON – P.K. Subban scored in double overtime as the Montreal Canadiens beat the Boston Bruins 4-3 to win Game 1 of their second-round playoff series.

Subban’s second goal of the game came on a hard slapshot 4:17 into the second overtime.

Carey Price finished with 48 saves while Rene Bouque and Francis Bouillon scored in regulation for Montreal.

Reilly Smith, Torey Krug and Johnny Boychuk countered for Boston, and Tuukka Rask stopped 29 shots.

Montreal had a 2-0 lead entering the third period on a goals by Subban and Bouque, but Smith cut the deficit to one and Krug tied the game on a slapshot.

The teams traded goals again, with Bouillon putting Montreal ahead only to see Boychuk send the game to extra time with less than two minutes remaining in regulation.
