Father of killer admits to being accessory in connection to murder of B.C. girl

KELOWNA, B.C. – The father of a man convicted of first-degree murder has admitted to helping his son in connection with the crime.

Stephen Foerster pleaded guilty to being an accessory after the fact in a Kelowna, B.C., court.

Matthew Foerster was convicted last month of killing 18-year-old Taylor Van Diest.

The young woman was found near death along some train tracks in Armstrong, B.C., on Halloween night 2011.

Foerster was sentenced to life in prison with no chance of parole for 25 years.

Sentencing submissions for his father were being heard in court Wednesday. (CKFR)
