Environment Canada continues snowfall warning in the Interior

About 15 cm of snow is expected by tonight and a strong frontal system is approaching the B.C. Interior today.

Rain and snow will begin on Highway 3 and the Trans-Canada today, Nov. 3, Environment Canada says in a release. The affected areas are from Paulson Summit to Kootenay Pass on Highway 3, and Eagle Pass to Roger Pass on the Trans-Canada Highway.

Freezing levels will lower causing precipitation to change to heavy snow by this evening. Snow should taper off early Sunday morning behind the system.

Rapidly accumulating snow will make travel difficult. Visibility may be suddenly reduced at times in heavy snow.

Weather in the mountains can change suddenly resulting in hazardous driving conditions.

Go to Drive B.C. for the latest road conditions.
