Bombers coach, GM, say only wins will show whether they’ve improved the team

WINNIPEG – The new coach of the Winnipeg Blue Bombers says all talk of improving the team is just words until they hit four wins this season.

Mike O’Shea was speaking along with general manager Kyle Walters Friday on one of series of conference calls CFL teams are having with the media as they prepare for the new season.

Last year, Winnipeg finished last in the league and tied their own worst record in the 18-game CFL at 3-15.

Walters wouldn’t even say he believes they have put together a better team than the one that missed the playoffs last year.

He promised fans will see a team that leaves everything on the field.

But he said it will be their wins that show whether or not the Bombers are any better.
