5.8 earthquake felt in Alaska’s Cook Inlet region
ANCHORAGE, Alaska – A 5.8 magnitude earthquake was felt in Alaska.
The U.S. Geological Survey says the quake struck at 7:16 a.m. PDT on Saturday and was centred about 19 miles northwest of Anchor Point in the Cook Inlet region.
However, the quake was felt in East Anchorage, causing some items on shelves to rattle for a bit. Anchorage is about 110 miles from Anchor Point.
There were no immediate reports of damage.
USGS says there is no tsunami danger.
