Tk’emlups general voting day this Saturday

KAMLOOPS – Regular voting day for the Tk'emlups te Secwepemc election is just a few days away.

On Saturday, Nov. 10, voters from Tk'emlups will vote for one chief and the seven councillors they want to represent their community.

The band's current chief Fred Seymour will not be seeking re-election. He was first elected in November 2015.

The two candidates running for chief are incumbent Coun. Rosanne J. Casimir who was first elected in 2009 and candidate Joshua August Gottfriedson.

The candidates running for a spot on council include Marie Baptiste, Thomas William Blank, Evelyn Camille, Jackie Camille, Chad Gottfriedson, Justin Cale Gottfriedson, Katy Elizabeth Gottfriedson, Jeanette Jules, Sonny Joesph Leonard, Colleen Mosterd-McLean and Viola Thomas.

Voting polls will be open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Nov. 10 at Moccasin Square Gardens.
