Forecasters say California will have days of scorching weather, high fire danger
LOS ANGELES, Calif. – California is hot and getting hotter as temperatures climb over the next few days.
The National Weather Service says a high-pressure area will bring red-flag conditions of extreme fire danger at least into Wednesday, coupled with Santa Ana winds gusting to 35 mph at times.
On Monday, Los Angeles had a high of 90 and San Diego’s 88 tied a 1979 record for the day.
On Tuesday, San Francisco is expected to top 90 degrees and coastal areas could see temperatures well above normal.
Inland areas up and down the state could see triple-digit highs all the way through Thursday.
