‘Gotham’ leads Fox’s new schedule, as network seeks rebound

NEW YORK, N.Y. – Fox will air new series on six of seven nights in the fall, including the much-awaited “Batman” prequel “Gotham.”

Fox and NBC are both presenting new schedules to advertisers on Monday. Fox has the larger immediate challenge, as ratings have plummeted this season in large part due to the sinking fortunes of “American Idol.”

“Gotham” will air on Mondays, following a 12-year-old future caped crusader in a city teeming with crime. An unscripted series, “Utopia,” will place people in an undeveloped area and ask them to develop a new civilization. It will air Tuesdays and Fridays in the fall.

Fox is cancelling “Enlisted,” ”Dads,” ”Rake” and “Surviving Jack.”
