Tottenham fires manager Tim Sherwood after just 5 months in charge

LONDON – Tottenham has fired Tim Sherwood less than five months into his first management job.

The Premier League club says it has exercised the end-of-season break clause in Sherwood’s 18-month contract.

The inexperienced Englishman was promoted within the north London club in December after Andre Villas-Boas was fired.

Tottenham finished sixth in the league on Sunday to qualify for the Europa League.
