BANGKOK – Thai authorities say explosions and an overnight shooting attack on anti-government demonstrators have killed at least two people.
Bangkok’s emergency medical services centre says 21 people were also wounded in the assault early Thursday in the capital.
The violence took place near the city’s Democracy Monument, where protesters are camping out.
The attacks bring the death toll in the political turmoil to at least 27 and more than 800 wounded since November.
The crisis deepened last week when the constitutional Court removed Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra for nepotism in a case that many viewed as politically motivated. Nine Cabinet ministers were also dismissed.
