Source: Toronto FC trades for Montreal Impact midfielder Collen Warner

TORONTO – With American star Michael Bradley headed to the World Cup, Toronto FC is moving to bolster its midfield depth by acquiring Collen Warner from Montreal.

The trade has yet to be announced officially but a source confirmed Warner is headed to Toronto. There was no immediate word on the rest of the deal.

A holding midfielder, the 25-year-old American has made 92 appearances for the Impact and Real Salt Lake. Warner has started all nine of Montreal’s MLS games this season but was sent off for handball last time out in a 3-0 loss to Sporting Kansas City.

Impact owner Joey Saputo has promised changes to his 1-5-3 team.
