Homicide detectives link wanted man Barry McQuarrie to second SUV

SURREY, B.C. – Homicide investigators have updated the details about a 33-year-old man wanted for questioning after a fatal shooting in Surrey, B.C.

The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team says Barry McQuarrie is believed to be driving a 2008 Toyota Highlander with B.C. licence plate 338 JNP.

A search for McQuarrie has been underway since Monday night when 32-year-old Gregory Quesnelle was gunned down in a Cloverdale townhouse in what detectives believe was a targeted attack related to an ongoing domestic dispute.

Police traced McQuarrie to a stolen Kia SUV seen leaving the townhouse, and the vehicle was found abandoned and in flames several hours later in south Surrey.

IHIT says McQuarrie has not been charged in relation to Quesnelle’s slaying but is wanted on several unrelated warrants and should be considered armed and dangerous.

Anyone seeing the Toyota Highlander or McQuarrie is warned to stay clear and immediately call 911.
