Homicide detectives identify stabbing victim following latest slaying in Surrey

SURREY, B.C. – A 39-year-old man stabbed to death in the latest homicide in Surrey, B.C., has now been identified.

Integrated Homicide Investigation Team Sgt. Adam MacIntosh says Milton Reyes-Moraga died Wednesday night after a fight in a home in the central Surrey neighbourhood.

Reyes-Moraga was originally from Nicaragua but had become a Canadian citizen and was living in Metro Vancouver at the time of his death.

A 29-year-old man was taken into custody following the stabbing but has since been released and no charges have been laid.

MacIntosh says neither man was known to police and the stabbing is not linked to gangs, criminal activity or a domestic incident.

He says an investigation is continuing and anyone with information is urged to contact police.
