Visiting Winterhawks down Kelowna Rockets, again

KELOWNA – The Portland Winterhawks defeated the Kelowna Rockets 4-3 on Saturday night at Prospera Place, winning back to back games in Kelowna this weekend and handing the Rockets just its second regulation loss of the year.

The 'Hawks led 3-0 after two periods of play before the Rockets got back into it, trimming the Hawks lead to 3-2 and then 4-3, but failing to find the equalizer in falling to 21-2-3-0 on the season.

Down 3-0 in the third, the Rockets clawed its way back into the game as Madison Bowey scored on a power play before Rourke Chartier netted the first of two on the night.

The Hawks got the winner on a power play when Miles Koules with six-and-a-half minutes to play making the score 4-2. Chartier added his league-leading 26th with under a minute to play to make the score 4-3 but the Rockets couldn't tie the game.

The loss came after Friday night's 4-3 overtime win by Portland.

The Rockets now head to a Wednesday night match-up against the Americans in Tri-City before coming back to Kelowna next Saturday to play the first of four straight at Prospera Place against Regina.
