Chapman University: Student had fake SATs in bribes scandal

ORANGE, Calif. – A private university in California says it determined one student linked to the biggest school admissions scandal ever prosecuted by federal authorities may have submitted fraudulent SAT scores.

Chapman University said Thursday it’s evaluating if any action is needed against that student, who was not identified.

The school’s investigation found no illegal conduct among university employees.

Chapman admitted and denied admission to students who worked with William “Rick” Singer, who pleaded guilty to fraud and conspiracy charges in the scheme.

Numerous university coaches and wealthy parents such as actresses Felicity Huffman and Lori Loughlin were also among the more than 50 people who have been charged in the scandal that involved cheating on ACT and SAT college entrance tests and bribing coaches to gain admission for students into elite schools.
