Brazen Vancouver sex assaults lead to three charges against 25-year-old suspect

VANCOUVER – A 25-year-old Vancouver man has been charged with three counts of sexual assault linked to recent attacks on the city’s west side.

Vancouver police say Daniel Ghoukassian is expected to appear in provincial court at 9:30 a.m.

He was arrested last week after a sharp-eyed patrol officer spotted a man matching the description of a suspect believed involved in the attacks, which all occurred in the city’s Oakridge neighbourhood.

The first offence happened May 12, when a 22-year-old woman was pushed into bushes and sexually assaulted.

A 19-year-old woman was pushed to the ground and assaulted on May 14 and a third offence occurred May 15, when a 38-year-old woman was attacked.

Police were concerned because the incidents took place in broad daylight along a busy street, in a densely populated area.
