TAMPA, Fla. – The Latest on the search for a woman who fell from a moving SUV in Florida (all times local):
7:30 p.m.
Detectives in Florida say they’ve found a woman safe after she was seen on a surveillance video falling from a moving SUV.
Hillsborough County Sheriff’s officials said in a Tuesday news release that the 21-year-old woman had suffered road rash but had not sought medical attention. She told investigators that she fell out after leaning against a previously damaged door.
The woman had been riding with her boyfriend, his sister and the sister’s one-year-old son. They told police they had just left a nearby Walmart. The Monday afternoon incident was captured on video at an intersection near the University of South Florida in Tampa. The woman appeared to be unconscious after the fall, which prompted the search for her.
Detectives have categorized the case as an accidental injury. No charges are expected.

Detectives in Florida say they’ve found a sports utility vehicle that a woman was seen falling from as it passed through a busy intersection. But it’s not clear whether they’ve found the woman, who appeared to be unconscious, or the driver who picked her up off the road and put her back into the SUV before driving away.
The incident on Monday afternoon was captured on video at an intersection near the University of South Florida in Tampa.
Hillsborough County Sheriff’s officials said in a news release sent Tuesday morning that they have no further details about the case.
They had been searching for the vehicle. Investigators also canvassed the area and checked with local hospitals looking for the woman.

Law enforcement authorities in Florida are looking for a woman who was caught on surveillance video falling out of a sports utility vehicle as it passed through a busy intersection.
A Hillsborough County Sheriff’s news release says the woman appeared to be injured and unconscious around 4:12 p.m. Monday when the driver got out of what appears to be a burgundy Ford Expedition, picked her up off the road and carries her back to the SUV. He puts her in the vehicle’s passenger seat and drives away.
The sheriff’s office released the video in hopes that someone would call in with information. The incident happened near the University of South Florida.
Sheriff’s spokesman Danny Alvarez said investigators canvassed the area and checked with all local hospitals looking for the woman.
