Christopher Froome wins 7th stage of Tour de France; Wiggins takes race lead from Canceralla

LA PLANCHE DES BELLES FILLES SKI STATION, France – Christopher Froome of Britain won the seventh stage of the Tour de France on Saturday by beating defending champion Cadel Evans of Australia and countryman Bradley Wiggins up the race’s first summit finish this year.

Wiggins took the leader’s yellow jersey after the 199-kilometre trek from Tomblaine up to the Vosges mountains ski station of La Planche des Belles Filles from Fabian Canceralla. The Swiss time-trial specialist had led the Tour since winning the opening prologue a week ago.
