Lab coats vs. climate change: Scientists rally for research

SAN FRANCISCO – Scientists in lab coats hoisting signs saying “Ice has no agenda, it just melts” have rallied in San Francisco to defend climate-change research ahead of a skeptical Trump administration.

A couple hundred researchers, activists and supporters gathered Tuesday before the biggest meeting of U.S. climate scientists since November’s elections.

Demonstrators held signs with slogans such as “Stand up for Science” and “We heart science.”

Rally participants object to President-elect Donald Trump’s questioning of scientific conclusions that mankind’s use of oil and natural gas rapidly is warming the Earth’s atmosphere.
