PRISTINA, Kosovo – Kosovo police say they have arrested five people suspected of throwing a Molotov cocktail at the Turkish consulate in a western city.
A statement Monday said that the fire bomb thrown early Monday in Prizren, 85 kilometres (50 miles) west of the capital, Pristina, caused only minor damage.
Based on surveillance-camera coverage and testimony from witnesses they identified a vehicle believed to be used in the attack and arrested five people who have been questioned and placed in custody for 48 hours. No reason for the attack was noted.
The government harshly condemned the attack, saying it “aims at damaging the Republic of Kosovo’s image and also hurting its friendship with partner countries,” according to a statement.
