Desbiens powers Warriors to 4-1 victory over Canadians at RBC Cup

LLOYDMINSTER, Sask. – Jonathan Desbiens scored his tournament-leading fourth goal and added an assist as the West Kelowna Warriors downed the Carleton Place Canadians 4-1 on Wednesday in their final preliminary game at the RBC Cup.

Quin Foreman, Bryan Basilico and Liam Blackburn rounded out the offence for the Warriors, who finished the round-robin portion of Canada’s Junior-A championship with eight points from a 3-1-0 record.

Owen Grant had the lone goal for Carleton Place (0-2-1), on a power play 18:27 into the second period.

West Kelowna’s Matthew Greenfield made 19 saves for the win. Colton Point stopped 28 shots in defeat.

The Canadians close out their preliminary-round schedule Thursday against the Brooks Bandits.
