WILD WEDNESDAY: Trail camera captures different deer personalities

Just like humans, different animals can react differently to the same situation.

In this week's episode of Wild Wednesday, WildSafeBC cameras captured the different personalities of two mule deer that approach the same trail camera.

One deer reacts cautiously and turns away while the other is more curious and bold.

It's a challenge to determine how an animal might react in a different setting.

Which is also why WildSafeBC wants to remind dog owners to be extra cautious of deer they came across in urban settings.

It's less common for a deer to attack in the wild because they have more room to safely remove themselves, says WildSafeBC. However, it is possible for a deer to react defensively to a dog's presence in an urban area.
