Abbotsford five-year-old dies of injuries suffered after she was hit by car

ABBOTSFORD, B.C. – A five-year-old Abbotsford, B.C., girl who was hit by a car near her Fraser Valley home late Tuesday afternoon has now died.

The youngster was hit just before 6 p.m., as she ran into a lane behind houses in the northwestern corner of Abbotsford.

She was rushed to hospital but police say she died about 24 hours later.

The 42-year-old woman driving the small car that hit the child remained at the scene.

Officers continue to investigate and have not said if charges are being considered.
