Canadian nun happy to be free after two months in captivity in Cameroon
MONTREAL – A spokeswoman for a religious congregation says a Canadian nun released after two months in captivity in Cameroon is happy to be free.
Josephine Badali says she spoke to Gilberte Bussiere this morning and that the 74-year-old nun sounded healthy and in good spirits.
Badali says Bussiere told her to thank everyone who supported her and prayed for her during the ordeal.
It is still unclear when Bussiere will return to Canada.
Badali told a news conference in Montreal today that Bussiere was to meet with the Cameroonian president.
Bussiere was kidnapped on April 5. She was freed with two Italian priests.
