OTTAWA – Some numbers related to the controversy around taxpayer-paid mail that the NDP sent across the country:

— Pieces of contentious mail sent by NDP: 1,799,833

— Pieces of mail that had been planned: 1,968,655

— Ridings that NDP mail reached: 26

— Number of NDP MPs whose names were attached to mail: 23

— Ridings in the midst of byelections in 2013 that received NDP mail: 4

— Pieces of mail sent into the Quebec riding of Bourassa before the Nov. 25 byelection: 131,564

— Households in Bourassa: 50,095

— Distance in kilometres between NDP MP Marjolaine Boutin-Sweet’s Hochelaga riding in Quebec and the riding of Vancouver Island North, where she sent mail: 5,154

— Number of House of Commons staff that reviewed content of NDP mail before it was mailed out: 0
