Receiver gets better introduction to Blue Bombers in his 2nd season

WINNIPEG – Receiver Aaron Kelly was signed by the Blue Bombers last year after the regular season was well under way.

This year he says he’s benefiting from a chance to attend training camp, learn the offence and become familiar with the team’s quarterbacks.

Kelly has had a good camp so far as the first pre-season game approaches Monday and says his comfort level is a lot higher than last year.

Starting quarterback Drew Willy and Max Hall, who finished last year for the Bombers, both like the way he’s been hauling in passes.

The six-foot-five import is entering his fourth season in the CFL and has 20 starts with the Bombers and Hamilton Tiger-Cats, where he spent his first two seasons.

Last season he wasn’t signed until the end of August, and besides learning a complicated new offence he had to deal with revolving cast of quarterbacks.
