Editors:
Five graduates. Five capitals. The story of Europe’s crisis.
The Associated Press on Monday launches Class of 2012, a yearlong multimedia project that will follow the lives of recent university graduates in Athens, London, Madrid, Paris and Berlin as they emerge from student life and head into the worst economic crisis Europe has seen since the end of World War II.
Profiles of the five graduates run Monday in text, photos and online video. APTN Horizons will run its first full-length profile on Monday, with one profile running each day through Friday.
Members of the Class of 2012 will provide updates on their lives through webcam diaries and Twitter feeds using the hashtag (hash)APclassof2012.
They will also serve as AP’s focus group for key news events such as elections and summits.
