PANAMA CITY – Prosecutors in Panama say the body of a 24-year-old Peace Corps volunteer has been found in a stream in the rural part of Panama where he served.
The federal prosecutors’ office identified the dead man on Monday as Cody Oser of Broomfield, Colorado.
The Peace Corps confirmed in a statement that Oser died Saturday in the heavily indigenous region of Ngabe Bugle, Panama.
Members of the local community found his body. The cause of death remains under investigation but he had no visible wounds and still had his money, wallet and cellphone.
Oser is survived by his parents, Lynnette and Steven Oser, his brother Gabriel and sister Abbe.
Oser graduated from Colorado State University with a degree in civil engineering, and focused on bringing technology to communities in need.
